Philippians 2:5-11 is an ancient hymn that proclaims the humility, incarnation, obedience, death, resurrection, and exaltation of Jesus Christ, helping us understand why the Church has confessed for centuries that Jesus is fully God, fully man, and LORD of all.
The message above explores how Christ willingly humbled Himself by taking on human flesh and becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Because of His perfect obedience, God highly exalted Him, so that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.
The Nicene Creed doesn't merely teach us what to believe about Jesus; it calls us to worship Him, submit to His lordship, and follow His example of humble obedience. As we behold the glory of Christ, our hearts are transformed to live for His kingdom and His name.
